June06 - Tall plants and new plants |
Drosera madagascariensis is doing well, despite the non tropical african weather we get in Cambridge.
The adopted plants are growing to a good height and catching plenty of prey. The x. hybrids are putting out new traps and showing some impressive colouration.
My new Sarracenia purpurea ssp. purpurea from hantsflytrap.co.uk Shropshire Sarracenias. There are four new traps growing which should form a good rosette (makes up for me breaking two off during planting).

May06 - Old and new Sarracenia looking promising |
|
|
The large venus fly trap is putting out plenty of new traps and everything seems to be growing well.
These pics of the water pipe show it without the stone lid. It's very handy for indicating the water saturation level, and also holds a few litres of water to buffer any loss during hot weather.

January 06 - Transfered potted plants to bog |
|
Plants purchased during summer 05 have grown well and survived the winter under cover.
The venus fly trap and sarracenia looked heathy, so I transfered them to the bog. Also purchased a plastic bell cover for the bog, it seems to have protected the plants from all the frosts so far. |
